City Mountain
The name Manhattan ("hilly island" or "place of intoxication") is from the Algonquian languages of the earliest known inhabitants of the area. Bought for a STEAL (in a Real estate Deal) by the Dutch in 1624 for $24, today you'll have to go to Brooklyn to find anything for that price. In City Mountain, you do what you can. If you can't pay your rent, live in a van-down by the river.

How many do you think can fit under that thing?
...well, hopefully quite a few. Looks like about 24 people were about to get evicted in the LES by some greedy space-hog landlords. It seems Alistair & wife, Catherine Economakis thought they had found the golden goose!
Said landlords "have been trying to take advantage of the law that lets landlords take over a rent-regulated apartment for their own personal occupancy. Tenants in the Lower East Side building say the Economakises are trying to turn a legal loophole into the Holland Tunnel: The couple wants to empty the entire five story, 15-apartment building to create a home for themselves, their baby, and a live-in nanny. That would mean evicting 24 people, including two families with small children, from 11 apartments in the building."
Their reply? "We're good people, honest. We didn't want to do it- the Economymakus!"
